Romanian Yellow Dot

cerculgalben.ro

Self-initiated

During the Romanian Revolution of 1989, protesters cut the communist coat of arms from the Romanian flag. The new flag became the symbol of Romania’s newly found freedom. 20 years later, in 2009, we started looking at the yellow dot (“cercul galben” in Romanian) that has since filled that hole.

This is an ongoing project, which so far includes a digital tribute to the heroes of the Revolution, two series of photographs and a book.
